ENGLISH AT NORBA IES NORBA CAESARINA (CÁCERES)
We had organised a visit to the Old Town of Cáceres with the 4th ESO Bilingual students. However, the high temperatures forced us to stay at school and do the activities in the library. We couldn't enjoy a real visit but we could learn about history and art and record our videos.

We say "farewell" to our dear Damian, who has spent two school years with us. He has always been willing to help and close to teachers and students. His dedication, kindness and hard work leave a lasting impression in our community.

The English Department commemorated the 250th anniversary of Jane Austen's birth with several activities: a corner dedicated to the writer at the school library and the exhibition "Exploring the World of Jane Austen".

The English Department has decorated our school with a collaborative Christmas Tree designed by Mª Ángeles Corral, as well as solidarity Christmas cards that Nieves Garrido will deliver to senior citizens living in a residential home, spreading holiday cheer beyond our school.
This year Mª Ángeles Corral, our Bilingual Section coordinator came up with a wonderful idea to decorate Norba School: creating recycled haunted houses out of cardboard boxex. The result was an impressive Halloween village filled with spooky, imaginative houses. Thank you to all the students who participated. Have a look at the first, second and third prizes.

Halloween is almost here and at Norba school we are ready to decorate and celebrate.
To stay true to our commitment to the environment we have decided to create haunted houses using recycled cardboard boxes.

The halls and room doors were decorated with beautifully crafted posters inspired by this year’s motto: “Languages open hearts and minds.” Each creation reflected the students’ understanding that learning a language is more than memorizing words — it’s about connecting with others, embracing different cultures, and opening ourselves to new ways of thinking and feeling.
The celebration reminded everyone that languages truly have the power to build bridges and bring people together.
This year we have proposed to our ESO students to make terrifying masks. We are pleased with the great participation and enormous creativity, and surprised of having found numerous literary and cultural references. “We are terribly horrified by these frightening horror masks”
To celebrate the Day of Languages some students and some teachers have recorded 1 minute videos explaining the meaning of an idiom or expression. Watch them and learn!!!
In coordination with other linguistic departments, we have created THE TREE OF LANGUAGES. Our students have created leaves with messages in different languages and the result is incredible. Thanks to teacher Nieves for the idea, to M. Ángeles for designing the tree and to Antonio Salas (P.E. Department) for creating the video and performing the music.
